The smug, sneering attitudes of wealthy investment bankers and fund managers (who, by the way, screw up virutally every market and industry they touch) betray a narrow, short-sighted lack of intelligence when it comes to comprehending the role of luck in their lives. The reason why our economy and culture are so messed up is that our "elites" are nothing more than a group of mediocrities who really don;t know what they're doing. That's what history shows: one group of idiots after another, in every country, in every age, wrecking things for themselves and for others, over and over and over agin.
